i-Werx joins forces with Emerson Apparatus to move forward on its OPC Push
technology.
OPC Push is a technology that allows live information from manufacturing
equipment to be transmitted via any type of network, or securely on the
internet.
This will allow any machinery or process
equipment to be connected to a live OPC server module via many methods like
the industry standard RS232 serial connections and then serve the data using
the OPC (Object linking and embedding for Process Control) over any type of
network connection. Users of the data will be able to utilize any OLE
container (such as Microsoft Word, or Active Desktop) with which to drag and
drop controls, database connections, etc to build a live monitoring and
control system in only a few seconds. Most major industrial control
companies have made their control products OPC compliant. This IS the
wave of the future.
Emerson Apparatus has been producing quality industrial laboratory
equipment since 1908. This Maine based company is looking to enhance
their product lines and is working with i-Werx to add this ability to their
equipment. This development will speed the related live OPC server
module design and deployment, allowing us to come to market quicker and with a
stronger product than initially anticipated.
